Hey guys, any one who is fond of poetry as I am? Today I wish to share with you an amazing. empowering, and powerful poem which sends a message of hope. one of Maya Angelou's most popular poems. For those who don't know who Maya ANGELOU is,she is or was an American civil right activist, poet and novelist who died in 2014 at the age of 86. Angelou had a turbulent childhood, but she was able to retell her experiences through her books and poems with a great positive message of humanity and hope. "STILL I RISE" is one of the most celebrated poem in the history. Nelson Mandela read it at his inauguration in 1994 after having spent 27 years in prison. When I first read this poem I was impressed by the courage and the determination of Angelou, in my opinion she really is a hero.
I hope those lines will inspire you as they did for me. "Still rising no matter how down I am" that's what the poem thought me. |
Who's behind the blogHello I am Denyse INEZA
My blog's name "ishyapluma" is made of two words ishya and pluma. Ishya from my mother tongue(kinyarwanda)means prosperity and pluma is a Spanish word for pen. Being very introverted, I started blogging because I was so inside my head and I needed a way to get out of it. later on it became a way of reaching out to my audience. I now write to influence, to inspire and to give hope for a prosperous future to me as well as to everyone reading this blog. I write to heal. Welcome to Ishyapluma! Contact: +250784266072 Archives
